I got a call in the morning

There was a voice on the end of the line

Said he was sorry for the lies

Said he was wrong - and he loved me

 

Said he wants to be with me

He wants to make up for some time

Said he had a big surprise

He's comin' over - and he missed me

How much I wished that he was you

 

It's funny how you call me

When it seems you're in between

Between the girl you recently lost

And the girl that you're hoping to meet

 

And then you dial my number

As if no time has passed

You know I'm there because you strung me along

You don't even bother saying you're wrong

How it could be with you

I wanted to believe in you

That the words you said were true

Sometimes when I look at you

I see

Possibilities

Of all the things that we could be

Maybe growing old with you

Is the place that we could end
